Artist Statement

I’m a 3-dimensional mixed media artist, and my work begins where traditional painting ends. I create sculpted canvases — textured, layered surfaces that I mold by hand before ever picking up a brush. For me, the canvas is not just something to paint on — it’s a space to build on, carve into, and bring to life.

I use a variety of materials — plaster, fabric, paper, and found textures — to form depth and structure. These materials allow me to shape raw emotion and movement directly into the surface. Once the form takes shape, I paint over it, using color to highlight shadows, contours, and energy within the piece. It’s a process that’s both physical and intuitive — a push and pull between control and letting go.

My inspiration comes from the emotional layers of the human experience, from nature’s textures, and from the unexpected beauty in imperfection. Each piece I create is an expression of feeling — meant to be experienced not just with the eyes, but with the senses.
